  1. Please help!

After my DVD to SVCD conversion, I am getting A green bar at the bottom of my movie. I am using DVD2AVI and the newest TMPEG. When I preview the movie with Window Media Player I get a breif message that it is trying to request the codec. Then it says that it can't find it and plays the movie. I tried playing with PowerDVD XP and see the same green bar. I have been double checking my settings and the are the same with Past conversions. The only thing that I can think of is that this may have started after I removed the dvd software player that came with my Gateway PC and installed PowerDVD XP. Any thoughs? Is my codec that TMPEG bad?

PLEASE HELP!! I would like to start encoding as soon as I get a new DVD player to watch them on. (My Pioneer was smashed during a move)

  2. I was right, it was my install of PowerDVD XP. TMPEG was try to encode with a "Cyberlink" codec. I will take off PowerDVD and try again.

  3. No luck, TMPEG still "encodes" with a codec that nothing can play!

I put back the old DVD plyaer that came with my Gateway PC and nothing helps. Can you point TMPEG to the correct codec? Or should I install a good MPEG2 codec? (Maybe the one in Nimo?)

    Somebody please help me out!

  4. This is nothing u should worry bout, i know what u are talking about.

If u watch ur svcd in wmp or software dvd player, u can see this bar, its not that big but there.

    The good news is this-

When u play it back on tv, it will not be there and this is why-

When u play movies back on tv, the whole outer part of the movie vertical and horizontal is cut off by 1-2", causing the green bar to disappear!

So, dont worry, just about all svcds i believe do this in tmpgenc.
Some of them do it to me, some dont. But it never shows on tv.

Everyday is another payday and I am one step closer to becoming the one.
