    Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a specific filter which I just CANT seem to find. I'm trying to make my video file "fast forwarding" as in I'd like to shorten a 1 hour video into 6 minutes with everything going extremely fast.

I'm using vdubmod, and I was wondering if there's something in the program already that Im not seeing or if there's a plugin / filter that I can use to do this.

    help please!

  2. You can do "timelapse" with vdub/vdubmod or avisynth

Read post #27 jagabo posts how to do it with vdub (should be similar in vdubmod)

    OK, I found this:

I'd stick to the 32 bit version. And yes, VirtualDub has the ability to decimate. If you simply decimate in VirtualDub it will also slow down the frame rate, leaving you with the same running time. If you want a fast-motion video you have to increase the frame rate in the upper part of the frame rate dialog. For example, if you have a 25 fps video and you want it to run twice as fast: change the frame rate in the top part of the dialog to 50 fps, then decimate by 2. That will give you a 25 fps video with half the running time.

But there is still one problem: I don't have any idea how to "decimate" Can someone please explain it to me?

  4. when you go video=> frame rate, there is a dialog box under 'frame rate conversion' heading that says "decimate by"

decimate by 2 is same thing as every 2nd frame
decimate by 3 is same thing as every 3rd frame

so if you wanted every 10th frame, enter 10

    etc...
