I transferred a file over to my PC from my Tivo and decoded it from .tivo to .mpg with Tivo Decoder. The file is over 9GB. I started converting with Handbrake but it said it would take over 19 hrs! I have an AMD Athlon 64 processor 2.39GHz with 3GB ram so I cant see why it would take so long. Can anyone recommend a (free) alternative? Thanks.

just used xmedia recode. Worked well but still took about 16 hrs to encode. Is that normal?

1920x1080 ac3 passthru h264. I had it set to not change frame rate (23.976) but it did anyway to 50 something. The quality was terrible (looked like a 700mb avi file). It came out to almost 4gb which is what i wanted. I had constant bitrate set to 5000. The source material was better than dvd quality but not blu. I guess I'll try handbrake again when i dont plan on using my pc for 19 hrs.
