Good evening:

I've recently been attempting to delve into the wonderful world of audio recording. Right now, I'm just experimenting with different software/hardware combinations for my home studio set up and wondered if anyone had any suggestions as far as good starting point for a digital audio workstation (Audition, Sonar, Cubase, etc)

I would like something that would work on my dedicated machine (not the greatest)... Dell Dimension 8400... Pentium IV 3.2 HT, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB main drive, 1TB storage drive w/ Windows XP Pro 32-bit (64-bit didn't fare so well with my interface).

I'm working with a USB Tascam US-1641, a cheapie MXL Condenser mic, a Korg M50 workstation, and a Roland V-Drum set for drum recording/midi triggering.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
