  1. I would like some help on how to "fix" this captured video so that I can seek when playing the video.
    I got this video from:

    http://english.cntv.cn/live/

This is a continuous live stream. I used Orbit to capture about 30 seconds of the stream.
I captured a 2MB segment of the video and you can download it here:

    http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=91c32e4c106e68003ad9557f5f523539

The video has a ".ob!" extension and I changed to ".asf". (Gspot says this file is ".asf".)
However, no matter how I change the extension, when I play the video in VLC or Windows Media Player, although the video plays fine, I cannot seek and the duration/elapsed time of the video is not shown.
    My question is:
    1) why cannot I seek on the video and why is there no elapsed time?
    2) how can I fix this problem?
    Thanks

    1) because this was a live stream capture and you aborted the download
    2) run it through asfbin to "fix" it

  3. Thank you very much. That worked (first download and install asfbin) and now I can seek and see the elapsed time on the video. I also (as mentioned on asfbin website) had to first download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
Had problems getting this link from asfbin website, so I just googled for it and downloaded directly from Microsoft.
