I put my media in paper sleeves inside Ikea slide-out CD wooden storage boxes....and there is no such thing as archival grade media.

Yes, "Archival Grade Media" is an unsupported claim. In fact, my very limited experience with such on the CD-R side is that it may actually be somewhat inferior to cheaper run of the mill CD-Rs. The same is probably true of the DVD "Archival Grade Media" but I never bought any to test.

Using good quality media is your best bet. This means Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden. Verbatim makes no such claim but I have a personal hunch that their AZO dye may have somewhat superior lasting properties. Again, Verbatim does not claim this and that is only my opinion. Keep your discs away from temperature extremes. If it's anything you really can't live without you'll need multiple copies preferably stored at different locations (ie. you could have a friend put some copies in a closet in his house). You might also want to look into making PAR recovery files and storing those on separate media for anything you really can't live without.

Sadly they were discontinued several years ago.....at least in Europe. The short product number was 14158.
