  1. I am new at this, so please bear with me.
I have a .mpg file that I am trying to put on a vcd (want to learn more about creating vcd's).
I need to convert it to an encoded mpeg file, but don't know how.
Is there a certain program I can use, preferably freeware.
I am trying to use Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 and it ways I need to encode it.

Thanks in advance for the help!

  2. .mpg is an encoded mpeg file whether it's vcd compliant that's probably what adaptec is objecting to
Adaptec software isn't the best in book for makeing vcd's. You might try Nero or NTI cdmaker there not as fussy on the encoded mpeg file. Nero will actually re-encode the file for you if it's not a vcd compliant mpeg file.
Try the link to the left under AUthor they might have a guide for your adaptec. Or try the convert link on left it will tell you programs you can use to re-encode your .mpg file so it works in your Adaptec.
