    Hi,

I currently have 4 Pioneer DVR111D burners in 4 PCs.

I also have an LG model ( unknown )

I have just noticed that some DVD - r's burnt on the LG are
pausing for a few seconds, then continuing.

It's time to scrap them all and get new ones.

What is the best brand and model number nowadays

PS, bluray is not really an issue for me.

    cheers
    Scott

I'm currently a big fan of the Samsung DVD Burners. I use to only buy Plextor, but not anymore.

I have two Samsung: SH-S243N and I believe the other was a S223. Both are very cheap right now (around $20).

ima big fan of my pioneers and will probably cry the day my 116d dies..but i do have some mainstays that do almost as well

    ASUS 24B1ST

    Sony 7260

I have a Sony/Optiarc 7240 but the 7260 is basically the same drive, just updated...both of these models are fantastic in terms of disc burn quality

You should get a good deal if you sell them on ebay, even in these days.

Sony Optiarc and Samsung DVD burners got the most recommendations when I was looking last year. I bought a Samsung SH-223L because my other choices were sold out at the time. It has been good burner for me so far.

Get an Optiarc or Samsung 24x burner. Those seem to be the best choices for SATA interface drives these days. If you need IDE interface, the choices are getting very slim.
