For close to 3 weeks XVID4PSp 5.0 everyday version has been great for me but now encodes that are around 8 hours are freezing my comp. 4 hour ones are still fine. I've uninstalled and re-installed but so far no luck. I was wondering if the 6.0 version would be better? I just like the one I have now and use to it. Thanks for any help.

My first guess would be that your computer is overheating on longer encodes. This could be down to dust, a broken fan, or other aging parts. Simple test - pull the side off the case and use a small desk fan to blow cool air through the unit while you encode (just aim the fan across the open the case, not directly into it). If you encodes don't lock up the system, heat is your culprit.
