hi
i have animation shop 3 and i cant save AVI file animations
whne i go to save it as avi, no avi compressors show up, i can only choose uncompressed, but when i choose that it says "error writing to file"
i do have space free so thats not the problem
i can save avi files fine with premiere or virtualdub or any other video editing program. just not animation shop
does anyone know how to fix this?
thanx

Are you running FAT32 or NTFS file system? FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB, and that might be a problem (if your files exceed 4GB).
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -

This next section lets you chose the codec you want, I selected DivX, also tried uncompressed
Next, 10 frames per second > next
Next, finish

MirrorImage:
my animation is only 5 seconds long so it wouldnt be anywhere close to 4gb
plus i dont have 4gb free on my harddrive haha

thats what i do, no compressors show up in the drop down list except uncompressed, and if i choose that, it says "error creating file" or something similar -
I think you have a bad installation of PSP, are you using a hacked version ?
sounds like.
Try downloading the evaluation program and install it "as is" see if it works ok before you mess around with it7.04 upgrade is also there.
A 5 second gif will make a very tiny AVI !
email it to me, Ill convert it and send it back -
ok thanx i will try that
yah its a hacked version but it worked fine b4
haha the animation is 704x480 with millions of colors so it will look really bad if i save to gif :P -
i downloaded the animation shop 3.04 trial version, but i still have the same problem :P
i emailed the company maybe they can help
do u have any more ideas?
thanx again -
Did you un-install the hacked version first and delete any traces of it in both the registry and your hard drive ?
Sometimes things get left behind, settings.. ini... reg... they can all mess up a new installation.
Maybe the hacked version works like the demo, neither will have the ability to export until you pay !. I've never seen this problem before. -
yah i uninstalled the hacked version b4 installing the demo
the stupid thing is that everything worked perfectly when i originally installed the hacked version :P
how would i know what to delete from the registry?
oh maybe i should mention i have another program that i cant use the codecs in either, Xara3D, its the exact same problem as Animation Shop, no codecs show up and i cant save uncompressed AVI
but every other program i have (Premiere, VirtualDub, TMPGEnc, etc) saving AVI works fine -
Hi
Well I would not recommend you manually deleting things in your registry, unless you know what your doing. I would be more inclined to use a registry cleaner like Norton utilities system check.
It sounds like your system is crying out for NortonI use it regular and every time I run it, there are errors...
Not used Xara3D for sometime, don't have it installed, so cannot comment on its settings. Have you run the Paint Shop Pro 7.04 update ? maybe that would fix some problems, although I don't think it will work on a hacked version. I have animation workshop 3.04, from its updates.
Can you load an AVI in ok ?
