How to extract audio from mpg file?

I have a DVD and I extract the mpg file from that DVD but now it has AC3 audio with 6 channels and I dont want to convert audio I want to extract it, as it is. And if i successful to extract audio with 6 channels then I will convert video to divx then will add audio track with AVI-Mux_GUI
Any software to extract it??

Use a demultiplexer like tmpgenc(under video->mpeg tools) or tsmuxer. Or extract the ac3 from the dvd directly with pgcdemux.

Both AutoGK and AviNet can make a DivX or Xvid file and you can select the option to keep the original AC3 audio. So you can do it with the one software package. You could use Handbrake to make a MP4 file and do the same ie keep the original audio.

thanks a lot and i also get another tool Xilisoft Video Converter I convert ac3 to again ac3 at 5.1 channel
