Hello everyone. I have been searching this forum for a guide to convert an AVI file with srt or sub file to a file I can view on Apple TV. I haven' found such guide but I presume it's in these forums. Please help!

    Hi, welcome to the Forum.

I can recommend a tool perfect for this, and free, called HandBrake. It's very easy to use with the presets (including one for AppleTV), but their site has lots of other useful information if you need more.

You can visit their site for downloading it and guides here: http://handbrake.fr/

PS: They also have a great forum if you have a specific question, but all the basics are offered in their guides.
I hate VHS. I always did.

Handbrake is excellent (and free) but Submerge provides options regarding subtitle size, font, etc., that Handbrake does not. I use both depending on the source and other factors. (Submerge's developer is also quite responsive to help requests.)
