  1. Not sure exactly where to post this but I have a two part question. Have been dealing with dvd's for years but I am fairly new to avi encoding and encoding in general.

I have a batch of avi files that I can not seem to get streaming to my xbox and when I try re encoding them to an avi file that I can get streaming to my xbox the audio is completely not in sync. These same files the audio is out of sync even on vlc and windows media player so I am pretty sure the encodeding messed up the audio sync on the files since the original files play fine on the computer.

I have been looking at the original files settings and can't seem to figure out why they won't stream correctly to my xbox. Is there a program where I can get a read out of the settings of the original file and post them here for you guys to see? Or some way I can find the settings so I can post them here?

In a perfect world what I would like to do is simply re encode the original files so that I can stream them to my xbox. I want to stay with avi and not go to wmv files, is there a program that can recode a avi file correctly so that I can get it to stream to my xbox? I have been using DVDFab to create the new avi's that stream correctly but audio is out of sync. I would prefer this to dealing with trying to re sync the audio on the new files that I have created.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would try stream with some other software like ps3 media server may work better. It works for the xbox 360 also.

  3. Streaming is not the problem. I use Twonky running off one of my NAS box's to stream to two tv'ss, two xbox's, and two ps3's. And streaming is working perfectly fine, I just can't not seem to figure out why these files will not play to my xbox. Not looking to have to run a computer to stream my files. I know it is a matter of compatibility with xbox's streaming requirements. I guess I should be asking if there is an easy program that can take a avi file and re encode it to another avi file that is compatible with xbox's streaming requirements without losing sync with the audio as that seems to be what DVDFab is doing when I try to create another avi file from the original that is compatible with xbox's streaming requirements?
