    After removing the M1V header open the video in VirtualDub and fix it.

    File -> Open Video File
    Video -> Direct Stream Copy
    File -> Save as AVI

    If that wont help you can just try reconvert it with avi recomp.

    Thanks a lot. the sample file is now able to play in dvd player. the original file size is 1.36 GB is there any option to reduce file size in target file without lose of quality ??

    Without losing any quality? No. You might be able to reencode the file with a lower bitrate and not lose too much quality.
