I have got some 20 videos in dvd format. i am using tda. i want to get a top menu of a single line description of the content. then i want a track menu(am i right in calling this a track menu?) to list all the 20 video names. when i click on a partcular number on the list it should play. after playing it should go to the track menu with the list. in brief,i want to get each video files as a seperate movie. how can i accomplish this? thanks

Put them all in the same track(DON'T click "add a new track" for each video) and they should show up as chapters inside one track. Not sure about how to make each song play only once then back to the menu screen.

thanks for the suggestions.but it seems that when i put all movies in a track,the video plays continuously ,not showing any chapter cuts. after plyaing the particular movie it should go back to the menu.

cell command? i dont undersand this. btw, i would like to elaborate on this issue. i have some 20 movies. very small video clips of about 7 mnts duration or so. i want each clip to be added to tda as a movie. how can i add to tda. i should get a menu of the list of movies i added and i should be able to link the particular movie to the concerned line in the list. while playing i should be able to play the movie of my choice. after playing the movie it should show the top menu. i won't cut any chapters. there is no chapter at all. each movie since it is very small will play continuously.

It would be simpler to create a layout with "track menu only", use the disc title for your one line description and choose a custom layout that will display the number of items you want on a single page (I don't think you can get 20 though). Add each videos as a new track, then they will always play then return to the menu and if you want to play all there'll be a button for that. Make sure to set the action to perform after playback; set the first play action too.

I think that must be the "Top menu only" option. Then TDA creates a menu in VMG with a button for each track + Play all. In case "track menu only" it creates separate pages in each VTS (=track in TDA).
If you have the clips joined in a single track but don't have any chapters, you can re-import it to TDA (by dragging VIDEO_TS.IFO to SOURCE window) and set those chapters, then make top & track menus (1+1 pages) as usual. Then edit e.g. in DVDRemake:
a) add a cell command 'Jump VTS "root" menu' into the movie PGC's 'Cell Commands' tab;
b) in Programs tab of that PGC add command #1 to the last cell of each program
This way play all option will not work. If you need it, you can create a mirror PGC (Duplicate PGC command - before you've added cell commands). Register it as title 2 in VTS Titles and VMG Titles and edit the addressed title # in the command on the path from play all button. After that modify the original title by addition of cell commands as described above. The title without cell commands (launched with play all button) will play continuously. The one with cell commands (addressed from track menu) will play one item each time.
If you find it complicated, follow nic2k4's suggestion (note: top menu only, as I mentioned), but this way you only get track selection page(s). In theory it is possible to have up to 36 buttons per page (with 4:3) and up to 24 buttons with 16:9. The rest depends on TDA's template limitations (if I remember well, the TAW4 has templates with 18 or more buttons).
