Converting mkv to avchd for playback has worked great for me for a while. Lately though, MKV2VOB is not detecting a need to transcode for non standard resolutions. For example, with a 1280 x 688 file and transcode set to "automatic," it did not detect the non standard resolution and did not transcode the file. Is this a bug? Why does MKV2VOB recognize a file when it is in non standard resolution for one file, but not another?

Try other such tools like
rebox.NET
AVCHDCoder
GOTSent
mkv2m2ts Pro
mkv2vob
MKVBoxer
MkvConvert
multiAVCHD
PS3Muxer
XenonMKV
.
But it's probably because 1280x688 is not avchd-compliant. If you really want it avchd you must reconvert to 1280x720 with for example uncropmkv.Last edited by Baldrick; 19th Oct 2010 at 03:36.
