I am trying to convert my DVD library to MP4 to use with my Xbox 360 as a media center. Anywazzz... I am using Mpeg Streamclip to export my VOBs to MP4. Some of the exported MP4 get stuck on a frame yet the audio continues. For instance i just exported "Lost Highway" to MP4 and at 00:48:13 the video freezes, the audio keeps going but the frame is frozen. Then at 01:36:26 the video unfreezes and jumps to the correct frame with audio in sync. WTF?
When I open the VOBs I open I am asked if I want open "All Files"? I click yes to open all the VOBs.
Then Im prompted to "Fix time code breaks" and I click OK.
Then Im prompted with "This command will find and fix time code breaks in the stream" with a check box "Do not skip any frame (should not be enabled when joining files)" so I UNcheck that.
And my entire video is now open in Mpeg Streamclip.
I Export to MP4 with pretty much the default settings (H.264, AAC) The only changes I make Is I bump the quality to 100% and limit the data rate to 2000.
Any idea why this would be happening? It doent happen on all of my DVDs just some (like 50%).
Just incase anyone is concerned I own ALL the DVDs I am converting.
Thanks!
