    hello
    my dvd recorder does not power up,of course i have tried invain changing the plug fuse.
    any suggestions please .

  2. My experience agrees with your initial efforts: Start with the simple, cheaper fixes. Other simple (hopefully not insulting) suggestions:

    o What model recorder is it? Have you checked the owner's manual for hints?

    o Do you know for certain it won't work on another power outlet?

    o Is the power cord hardwired to the recorder? If not, can you try another one?

    o If the power cord IS hardwired, can you check it with a multitester to insure each wire isn't broken internally? (You'll have to open the unit.)

    o If you're willing to open the unit, check for another internal fuse or perhaps a circuit breaker to reset.

    o Once inside, look for anything that might be burned, loose wire(s) needing to be resoldered, bad capacitors (swollen-looking).

    Others may have additional, more useful ideas.
