It depends what you'd like to cut and join.

You can use a general purpose editor, like VideoStudio, and many will do the job for you but will re-encode them - time consuming and quality loss.

Not sure what format your files are but:

    If it's MPEG:
TMPGEnc (there is a free version)
VideoReDo (not free but very good)
Womble (not free but also very good)

If it's AVI (many formats like DivX, Xvid, DV):
    VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod (free)

    If it's MP4:
    YAMB (free)
    AviDemux (free)

    If it's MKV:
    MKVMerge (free)

    If it's WMV try WMM.

Keep in mind, due to the compressed nature of some formats, particularly DivX, Xvid, or what's usually in MP4/MKV, edits may not be frame accurate.

You should at least list the type of video files they are and what you want to convert them to. There really isn't an all in one program that will read EVERY format out there. You may need to convert to an intermediate format first than edit.

Give at least the file extension of the videos. However they are often just containers and not an actual format. Use gspot or mediainfo to identify the actual codec of the video. Than we can guide you a little more.

There are plenty of editors listed here:

BTW - It would help us help you more if you can tell us the format your files are in.

If you're not sure, use MediaInfo (free) which will tell you what's in the file.

Hi Yoda, wasn't echoing you - we posted at the same time (updating my first post) with some similar info.

No prob. But the best thing is when you get the same info from more than one person you usually figure its the right way to go

Yes indeed, but, especially at the very early stage of a thread, it's also an indication that this forum is quick to help.

That's the container info, which is likely an MP4 container. Can you scroll down further (if using MedieInfo) and tell us what's in it (such as AVC, MPEG-4 Visual, etc)?

If I'm assuming correctly, you can try YAMB or AviDemux.
