    Hello,

I have the original Live 8 (4 x DVD-9) and I would like to make an authored DVD with only the Pink Floyd set.

I'll put chapter #25 as an example here, so, this is what I did:

    1. DVD Decrypter:

    I ripped chapter #25 in IFO mode -> Enable Stream Processing -> Demux (video + audio + subtitles) [M2V + AC3 + SUB].

The final result of the ripping process were 5 files:

    Video:
    VTS_01_CHAPTER_25_1 - 0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 - 720x480 (NTSC) - 16~9 - Letterboxed.M2V

    Audio:
    VTS_01_CHAPTER_25_1 - 0x80 - Audio - AC3 - 2ch - 48kHz - DRC - English - DELAY -169ms.AC3
    VTS_01_CHAPTER_25_1 - 0x81 - Audio - AC3 - 6ch - 48kHz - DRC - English - DELAY -233ms.AC3

    Subtitles:
    VTS_01_CHAPTER_25_1 - 0x25 - Subtitle - Espaņol - [SP 06~ W-L] - DELAY 63630ms.SUB
    VTS_01_CHAPTER_25_1 - 0x26 - Subtitle - Portugues - [SP 07~ W-L] - DELAY 63630ms.SUB

    2. TMPGEnc Authoring Works:

    Start a New Project -> Source Wizard -> From a file -> VTS_01_CHAPTER_25_1 - 0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 - 720x480 (NTSC) - 16~9 - Letterboxed.M2V.

but in the "Cut-edit" window I can only see the first 3 frames:

Am I doing something wrong ?

    Thank you,
    Gonzalo

P.S: The only way to see the complete chapter was ripping the full DVD-9 using DVDFab 8 -> Full Disc. Then in TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 I had to select the Pink Floyd set and delete all the rest, but that was insane.

Did Pink Floyd only play for 4 minutes - 57 seconds?

Rip the disc with an updated ripper like DVDFabDecrypter, open the rip in DVDShrink to take only what you want from the disc. Simple.

It's not that simple, the 'main movie' contains only one title:

Yeah well, that's excatly what I had to do, that's why in the P.S. I wrote:

But i thought that extracting only the pink floyd chapters in IFO + Demux mode would do the job.

    Thank you.

I still don't understand why I can't see the full chapter after doing these steps:

    Select 4 chapters:

Size:	23.7 KB

    Demux video, audio and subtitles

Views:	1241

Final result of the ripping process (taking chapter 25 as an example):

Now, with all these files I go to TMPGenc:

Why, why, why is the chapter empty ?

I start thinking that this could be a bug on TMPGEnc, if not, it doesn't make sence. (to me)

Thank you anyway for your help.

If the chapters are visible in DVDDecrypter....then the chapters ARE there in the output that DVDDecrypter gives you...unless you have changed the settings in DVDDecrypter to something like File Splitting NONE...and even then I'm not entirely sure that the chapter markers will be deleted. In my experience it is actually quite difficult to remove the chapter markers.

Unless you try my first recommendation of ripping the whole disc with DVDFabDecrypter then you will never know if the VERY OUTDATED DVDDecrypter is the problem. And it is also completely NORMAL for a DVD to contain one title...but that one title still has chapter markers.

Rip the disc with DVDFabDecrypter...open the disc with DVDShrink in re-author mode....select only the songs/chapters you want...and let DVDShrink give you a ready-to-play DVD with the chapter markers included. End of the story.
