Hi Can anyone tell me if i've bought a counterfeit Blu Ray disc? When i put the discs into the PS3 the following is displayed-
    BDMV
    BD-ROM
    instead of the film title.
I bought the discs off ebay, described as being genuine...
    Thanks

Thanksw for that, Dave. The discs are grey/silver, just like other discs, but other discs show the titles...

  4. If there is no META Data on the disc, then it will not have any title/picture on the ps3.

  5. Example: The Karate Kid has META Data on it, so when you load it in a ps3 it will show the picture and title.

How large is the file in windows or cdspeed or properties? It could be a BD copy, BDMV is a bluray file on my copies along with Certificate to play it.

If you put a DVD that had an AVCHD or mts file, a regular DVD drive would not recognize it either. You can put a BD file on a DVD or DL disc, so that is not necessarily a good test.

I have some genuine BDs that don't display title information or images on the PS3 - it comes down to the authoring.

Thanks very much for all your help. Still none the wiser, but i think i'll stick to shops for Blu Rays anyway in future- just to be on the safe side...
