Goodday everybody,
I would like to know if it's possible to get your DTS sound from the DVD to your VCD. Till know all the vcd's I've copied are PCM.
Does anybody has any information for me, Thanhssxxx

well vcd ( and svcd ) standards dont allow for anything but pcm/wav ( officaly , but i do belive it is possable on some dvd players to use a multitrack mpeg audio track ) so the normal method is ac3 -> wav -> mp2 ... as for DTS ... i dont know how to get a DTS track on a DVD let alone a vcd ... ( ya i know their has to be some software out their but i have yet to here of it ) .... so the best i know of currently is to find somthing to break the DTS into 6 wav's then down mix it .... look around at some of the audio tools and their home sites .. maby someone knows of a program that works with dts

Pinnacle Impression Pro handles ac3 and 16:9 screen ratio. I think some products from Sonic Foundry also handle ac3.

you can put dts on a vcd, but only on menus. it has to be 44.1khz. this is because vcd supports cdda tracks, so u can make dts-cd type tracks which can be decoded by your receiver.
