  1. I'm trying to extract the audio from AVI files I recorded using CamStudio. When I import these files into Premiere Pro CS3 or After Effects CS3, the audio doesn't play.

    When I play the AVI files in windows media player, there is audio attached to the files.

    What software would you recommend to extract the audio from the AVI files?

    Thanks

  2. what audio format did you record in? use mediainfo

    you can use vdub to save the audio as wave and import separately (file => save wav)

  3. @poisondeathray - I tried that. When I played the wav in itunes & windows media player it worked, but when I imported it into premiere it says:

    "Unsupported format or damaged file."

  5. was it on audio=>full processing mode , or direct stream copy (default)?

    full processing mode will decompress your mp3 to pcm wav

    you could use direct stream copy for video and save AVI, that way you don't have to line it up in PP (you basically swap the mp3 audio for wave audio)

    Search Comp PM
    MP3 @ 22.05kHz == MPEG-2 Layer III,

    and the Adobe bloatware is too picky.
