Curtis DVD 1102 new firmware

Just found this at Curtis International:

Under the DVD1102 firmware upgrade.

Anyone tried it yet? Still have the region free capability? Might try it just to see what happens since I still have the Seiki for multi-region.

UPDATE:

Tried a lot of discs but the Curtis won't accept any of them. When connected to the net, it makes contact with Broadcom but there is no file download and (of course) Curtis doesn't have a direct download. Guess I'll have to see if I can get a disc from them...

Zellers has them back on sale again until November 25th at $79.95. Still can't get mine to accept the new firmware and never heard back from them when I wrote. Haven't checked to see if the Seiki has new firmware but our Wal-Mart store just got a whole skidload full of them in so maybe they are going on special too. Good to get a spare in case something goes wrong with the ones I have. No problems with them so far (touch wood).
