Hi,
Thought I'd give the latest version 0.9.0 9 this German tool a go. The interface seems reasonably intuitive. Demuxed using 'Simple DVD Creator' (which is supposed to integrate with Mpeg2schnitt if desired). Loaded demuxed files and cut them as desired, then saved it as a project. But when I opened the Tool to execute the cutting/rebuild with the new project file, the process started then stopped after about a minute with this error 113328. Trouble is I don't know what it means......Don't think it's lack of disk space. Tried searching but no luck.
Any help gratefully received - thanks.

This is what's been suggested:
- install the Mpeg2Schnitt version 0.9.2
- CoPy the file “HCenc_021.exe” from this archives into the directory “Encoder \ HCEnc”
- Setting “options - > external programs”
If you don't need precise CUTs all the time, you CAN just turn off “Allow frame accurate cutting” (if you use Mpeg2Schnitt 0.9.2, it's more under option - > video/audio CUT). Then you probably won't GET at error code. You CAN even set the CUT POINTs RK “more improper” places then (IN or OUT position show A question Marks; the time codes of acres talk). Mpeg2Schnitt itself wants move the CUT POINTs ton the nearest I frame (IN) or I/P frame (OUT). That's because MPEG2 doesn't allow “in-between” CUTs. OF course, it's better ton set the CUT POINTs RK correct of places ton begin with (IN and OUT show A check Mark; the time codes of acres black, emergency talk).
But: If you need the frame accurate cutting, you CAN turn the setting on and tell Mpeg2Schnitt ton use HCEnc (with Martin's description). In case, your CUT that POINTs wants fuel element accepted more wherever you place them (and don't have ton of fuel element “adjusted”).
I hope that helped.

Does it happen with all mpeg files?
You can also try cuttermaran and mpg2cut2. -
Hi Baldrick,
I've got a group of cuts all for one job - some IN/OUT cuts are listed all black, others have IN marked in red. I think it might be timing issues noted above. I assume as the first cut is all black and no 2 has some timings marked in Red, I assume that the programme trips over the red timing marks.
The files are demuxed to m2v and ac3 files, I haven't changed any of the settings.
I haven't tried v92 suggestion yet either.....I'd prefer precise cutting.
I've just checked in v 0.9.0 I have EncoderHC21.prg installed in external programmes.Last edited by bahjan; 4th Oct 2010 at 12:18.

I couldn't get v92 to work - the downloaded zip was always corrupted - so I stuck with 0.9.0.
To put the above in clearer English:
If when you are creating your cuts, any of the timings appear in red or a red question mark appears next to the IN/OUT buttons, it's an error warning and means you are trying to cut between frames, which the programme does not allow. In that case, use the forward or backward arrows next to the IN/OUT to jump to the next available frame. You'll know when you've hit the right place, as the red question mark will disappear or the timings will appear in black. If all the numbers in your cut list are black, then the error should not appear and the list will be processed into separate audio (AC3) and video (m2v) files, which you can import into your desired programme for re-muxing. In my case, I'll use Simple DVD Creator, which will create a set of vobs for Imgburn. As long as you choose your cut positions carefully, your joins should be clean.
When you get it to work, Mpeg2Schnitt is remarkably fast - about 2 hours of video cuts took under 10 minutes to process. I haven't tried messing with the settings yet, but you have the option to save cuts individually as well as joined, copy timings and correct bitrates. The quality of the end product seems as good as the original.

There is a newer version 93 which can be directly downloaded:
http://www.computerdns.de/mpeg2/Mpeg2Schnitt093.zip
According to Avast 4.5 AV zip is virus free and zip integrity ok. See last page of 'Neues von Mpeg2schniit' on forum page. Programme has the advantage of not installing - just runs from it's own folder. Not sure if v 93 is bug free though.... posted in May 2010.Last edited by bahjan; 5th Oct 2010 at 11:23.
