    Here is the situation:
I'm sitting at my computer which is connected to an external LCD screen. I want to display only a particular window present on the main computer on the external LCD. I need a software which can accomplish this task. I have been so far unsuccessful in finding one. If you know about any such software, please do reply. Your help is greatly appreciated. Also, if possible, suggest a cheap graphics card for a dual monitor setup.
    Thank You.

If it's a application, such as a video player or similar, just open the programs window and drag it over to the secondary display, resize if desired, and it should stay there from that time on.

For dual monitor card chipsets, Nvidia and ATI are the main ones out there. Many card manufacturers use their chips, so there is a lot of choices. What type of output? DVI or VGA? Quite a few of the newer cards have a dual DVI output and a single VGA adapter included. Or some have just dual VGA, but that's a bit harder to find these days. If you don't need a higher powered video card, you should be able to find something suitable for $30 - $50US.

    And welcome to our forums.

Thanks for the welcome redwuds! And thanks for answering my question. But I have one more doubt - will the taskbar be visible on the external LCD too? Because I just want the Window to appear in fullscreen. And regarding the graphics card, I think a cheap nVidia will do the job, as the external LCD does have a VGA port.
    Thank You.

  4. nVidia has pretty good multi-monitor support built into their newer drivers - don't use an MX440 card as nVidia seem to have dropped support for them some time ago. If the built-in support doesn't give you what you're looking for then have a look at a program called UltraMon. It gives you tremendous control over your muliple monitors and, if I remember correctly, a trial version so you can see if it does what you need it to do. Sorry, can't remember the address but any popular search engine should be able to find it.

Thanks for the reply TimA-C! I will surely not buy the older models of nVidia but the cheap end new models from the Geforce line. And thanks for that software suggestion! I'll surely try it out!
    Thank You.

  6. Both ATI and Nvidia offer the option of having one big desktop across both monitors (the Task Bar goes across both) or two desktops (the Task Bar only goes across one). In the former mode a maximized window will fill both monitors (except the Task Bar). In the latter a maximized windows will only fill one monitor (the Task Bar will remain visible on the monitor with the Task Bar).
