  1. I have several home movies that I would like to run one after the other
(as one continuous movie). Is this possible using some sort of 'app'?

The usual process is called editing, however depending on what you want to do, it could range from simple to more complex.

It also depends on what format your video is, what type of editing you want to do, and what you want to produce at the end of the day.

For very simple joining and basic cutting you can use virtualdub for AVI, or AVI Demux for a wider range of types. However all the pieces must have the same resolution and properties for this to work. If you want to do more extensive editing, with transitions and titles etc, then you might be better off looking at one of the basic consumer editors, such as VideoStudio.

If you want a DVD at the end of the process then you could look at DVD Flick, which will let you put all the clips into a single title, then encode and author a DVD. You get no editing other than basic joining, but that may be enough

  3. Hi Gunslinger - sorry I seem to have been a bit vague in my requirement.

My problem is uploading to my isp, they do not allow long files so I had to chop
my videos up into small videos. Now that I have uploaded them I would like
to run them all continuously as one video.

    thanx..

I am still not sure what you are trying to do.

You have uploaded a video to your ISP in sections. I gather that you are trying to then stream them from your website (?) as a single video.

Whether or not you can do it depends on what your ISP supports on personal websites - not all support video streaming - and how much knowledge you have. There are java based players that support playlists, so you could build a playlist of the parts of the video in order and play them that way. Googling will be the easiest way to find code and samples. However there is a good chance your ISP isn't going to support what you are trying to do

  7. Thats exacty what I'm trying to achieve..

I shall get in touch with my host and see what they say about streaming..

    many thanx Gunslinger...

  8. A web 'host' is not the same as a ISP. Although, as guns1linger said above, some ISP's allow a small personal website.

  9. My ISP is also my Host (NTLworld or Virgin as it is now)

I have tried several paid hosting sites none of them allow streaming so looks like I'm stuffed...

You can always look at youtube or similar sites. Most have private settings with invite only viewing.
