  1. I have two .ts files (same program) and I have converted succesfully the first one to .mkv. The problem is, that Tsmuxer doesn't regognize the second .ts file audio track. The first one had AC3 2ch, and mplayer reports the second one being AC3 6ch, although AC3filter only shows 2ch active.

    Programs:
    TSmuxer
    MKVmerge

    .ts file
    1280x720 59.9401 h.264
    ac3 2ch

Anyway to demux the second audio track, or is there some other problem?

You have to keep experimenting with different programs until you find one that works and it seems like every file is different. What works for one file may not work for the next. I've found that transport streams are a nightmare. Always producing either corrupt video or corrupt audio.

    Programs that I've tried...

    TSdemux
    TSmuxerGUI
    gdsmux.exe

    Virtualdub (downmixes to 2 channel)
Nero Wave editor (produces a five minute file)
Audacity (each track plays at a different time)

Something has to be messed up with the header cause as you mentioned, different programs read the files differently and some programs won't read them at all.

The TS files seem to play fine as long as they're in the TS container but the second you try and edit them or put them in a different container, the nightmare begins.

  3. Great thanks,

I tried first TSdemux, but it demuxed ac3 file so, that MKVmerge recognized it as video file.

Then tried Haali internal gdsdemux, and it worked and correctly demuxed the audio file. Demuxed video with TSmuxer and muxed both back with MKVmerge.
