I am capturing my VHS tapes using Dazzle 100 into mpeg-2 videos.

When I play the videos .. only the left side has sound .. the right is completely silent/flat (checked with program).

What can be the cause of this? And how can I fix it so both sides of the sound get captured?

    Thanks.

Does your VHS output stereo ?
Are you using a two channel audio cable (usually white and red or black and red plugs) ?

  3. Use a y-adapter to split the mono audio to both the left and right audio inputs on you capture device.

my VHS player only has yellow and white - no red.

so with that "y-adapter", I suppose I will plug the white into the black end and connect the white and red to my Dazzle?

EDIT: I found one here, will this work? http://www.buy.com/prod/cables-to-go-value-series-audio-y-cable-mini-phone-female-ster...208181495.html

btw, thanks for the replies =)
