    Hi,

I have a library of more than 30 custom presets for WinFF, and I need to pass it to some people, potentially many times a month. As it is, the only method is to import the .wss files once at a time in the presets list.

Is there any faster way to do this ?
It may involve another software, some add-on to WinFF or some code in the command prompt, I don't really care, I'm good with PHP and if need be I could devise something that could automatize the thing. If anyone could just point me in the right direction, that'd be great !

    Thank you !

I'm thinking your presets are stored in:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<YourUsername>\Application Data\WinFF\presets.xml

You should be able to drop that XML onto anyone's PC, and it will have your custom presets.

But then, is there a way to import this XML into WinFF ? I've only been able to import .wss files in the presets list...
That would be an ideal solution if I could resolve this step !

I think I found a solution to my first problem : it is possible to convert a .xml file directly into a .wff file. So it is possible to import a copy of said .xml file.

But another issue arises : if I want to update my custom sets (they already exist but I want to overwrite their specifics), WinFF won't let me. It'll just see that [Set A] already exists and won't replace it with the new set described in my .wff file.

I'd see two potential solutions :

    1. Have a quick way to erase the whole sets library so we can import a new one ; for now I only have the means to erase them one at a time, and it proves very time-consuming...

    2. Finding the file where sets are stored. This seems not to be the presets.xml file, since when I do changes in my presets list, the file doesn't update. It seems more like a backup of the original library.

I'll keep looking, in the meantime any suggestion would be greatly appreciated !

    Thanks again !

I just tried editing the preset.xml doc located in my Documents and Settings dir, and the change appeared in the application, so I'm not sure what to tell you. I am using WinFF 1.3. I was also able to rename my presets.xml to test.wff, and was able to use the import option in winff to bring them back in.

I really feel like the noob that I am right now :S
I was, under the influence of some unknown obscure force of unnature, using WinFF version 0.4.
Updated it and now works like a charm !
    Thanks a lot Liquid !
