For caputuring I hear you have to have dma selected. The problem I can't find it anywhere. I look for it like you guys tell me to but all I find is a box that says default or only primary or both ide channnels or only secondary or no ide channels. Nothing about a box to check for dma. What do I do????

This setting is not in Setup but only appears after you start Windows. It's in Device Manager. Double-click the IDE device, let's say the hard drive, in Settings, you should see a box that says DMA. If it's not checked, your HD is not DMA-enabled, which means it's much slower than it could be.
So in that case, you have to enable it by inserting the CD-ROM that comes with your motherboard to enable DMA.
Hope that helps. Each mobo is different, so I can't be more specific. Sometimes, if the box is not checked, you can just check it. You will see a message, just say OK, and it may work. You may have to reboot.
