I have a Sony HDR-HC3 camcorder. I previously used Windows Movie Maker on Vista to import my tapes. It created multiple files per scene with date and time. This is very cool because I don't have time to do any editing and just want to dump on harddrive as is.
Since I've upgraded to Windows 7 and Vista/Windows Movie Maker 6.0, this feature is gone? It is importing my files into this windows media center project file and all scenes lumped in this.
How can I get Windows Movie Maker to automatically import my tape into separate files with date and timestamp?
Is there another option to break this windows media project file into several files by scene/datestamp?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

In Windows 7, there is a checkbox that allows creation of multiple files but say "not available for HD video". Is there plugin to enable HD video?
Am I forced to go back to an older version of Windows Movie Maker on Vista? Which version allow multiple files?
