My TIVO HD has a number of protected shows that I want to record on a DVD Recorder. TIVO Desktop won't copy those shows to my PC. Are there DVDRs on the market that would permit copying those files?

Additionally, how does one "logon" to the TIVO; it's networked now.

    Thanks.

  4. I use a $20 stabilizer, works fine for me. Do a search for "digital video stabilizer".

You could try kmttg and see if it will let you transfer those protected files over to your hard drive. I have a tivo hd myself and only use kmttg. I don't even have tivo desktop installed anymore.

However I only have Over the Air free DTV. So I can't comment on whether or not kmttg will work with protected files. Worth a try though as it's free. The only thing it's going to cost you is the time to try it out.

    edit
nevermind about kmttg. I just checked their website and it says that it won't download any protected content. Samijubal's suggestion is probably the best one.

  6. If you can see it you can use a camcorder pointed at the screen & record it. That is my all around solution
