  1. very confused here about how to do this process. im trying to create a video with subs for ps3 playback using aviaddsubs (after some research i'm understanding this prog is very easy to use and very fast for adding subs to .mp4 videos.
so after starting the program i check through my configurations to make sure everything is what and where i want it to be. I made sure that the video (.mp4) and the subs (.srt) were in the same folder. also i made sure the two file had identical names as i read these are 2 important step in the creation process. after my first attempt i get a failed message. telling me the "movie-eng.avi" not found. so thinking maybe i can't make an Xsub using the .srt files (which i've read that you can do that) i tried changing the configuration to make Idx/sub file and then proceed to try add soft subs to the film (i mean that's what this program does). after which i added the 2 new file to the folder and tried to re-attempt the whole process again, which i ended up with 2 failed files instead of 1. lol. so what i'm asking is for help or a guide about using this program with .mp4 files. How can i add subtitles to an .mp4 file with AVIAddXSubs?

aviaddxsubs only works with avi files, not mp4 files.

  4. aviaddxsubs says itself it works with .mp4 ... It processes the .mp4 file before spitting out this error. THere must be some setting checked here that doesn't need to be. I'm running into the same problem.

  5. I've been using AviAddXSubs to output idx/sub for use with my WDTV for USB gen1. I was adjusting settings for each particular video according to resolution. Then I found this page how to set them generally for WDTV. There are also some hints for PS3:

As far as I know the only "embedded" sub it does is XSub in avi. For the others there's a switch to create idx/sub pair from .srt as many players will support these as external files. My WD player will do .srt but the max size and border thickness settings are too small. Hard to read. With AviAddXSubs I get more control of font size, border thickness, display position etc..
