    I could really use some help, when transfering video to laptop video is save but there is no sounds.
    When I playback thru the camcorder there sound is there, what am I doing wrong?
    Have transfered with Windows media, Picasa and thru supplied Canon software with the same results
    Any help would be geatly appreciated

    check one of the transferred files with mediainfo. put it in text mode and copy/paste the results.

    You probably need an AC3 or MP2 decoder.
