  2. Hey Thanks.

I wanted to know DVDFab Hd Decrypter how is this diiferent from DVD Decrypter. Does DVDFab Hd Decrypter ensure more better quality without any loss in Quality. I have older version of DVD Decrypter I got it from a freind so should I use that or should I use DVDFab Hd Decrypter which one will have a better quality.

Ok, and once I have the Video_Ts folder created what are the further steps the link to the Guide that you have posted above does not say aything about the steps on how and what needs to be done once someone has a VIDEO_TS folder created.

Can you please tell me something on it.

    Thanks

  3. They both produce the same quality - the exact same as the source DVD. It's just that DVDFab HD Decrypter is newer and can handle newer encryption schemes.

You might get some answers yourself by doing some reading first rather than coming here with really basic questions that show you've done no research at all. There are guides for everything video related under the sun at this site. Maybe if you could tell us what your final or output format is to be we could narrow it down somewhat.

Once you have the VIDEO_TS folder....you have a "rip" of the DVD. A "rip"is an exact copy of the DVD(or Blu Ray) with ZERO quality loss....that is what a "rip" is.

    To do WHAT?
Zero quality loss is a "rip". You asked for zero quality loss...a "rip" as described above is the answer.
Anything else involves compression, re-encoding or transcoding and WILL result in quality loss....sometimes
    huge amounts of quality loss
    .
What codec do you want to use to compress the DVD? Xvid, Divx, H264?

  7. It depends on what you want to do with it. You haven't said. Are you making another DVD, an Xvid AVI, an x264 MP4, what?

So what u r saying is lets say if I have a VIDEO_TS folder and If I wish to make a MP4 file of it. The conversion will result in some Quality Loss ?

Then you have already been given the answer....DVDFabDecrypter (the FREE portion of the program). Burn that VIDEO_TS folder back to a blank DVD with ImgBurn. Dozens upon dozens of guides are available for both programs....although a simple DVD copy is just that....simple.

Ok when I run ImgBurn just on opening it asks what do you wanna do. Now the Video_Ts folder that I get when I run DVD Decrypter and then DVD Shrink I do not get a ISO image I get a VIDEO_TS folder which does not have a ISO Image in it so for me the ovious choice of option would be selecting "Write files/folders to disc" versus "Write image file to disc"as I have a VIDEO_TS folder and not an ISO image. Right ? I hope I am following the right path. So just double checking.

Perhaps nobody else is answering your questions because they have already been answered - rip with DVDFab Decrypter, burn with Imgburn.

If you need help on using Imgburn, look in Imgburn's help menu. There you will find links to guides for all it's functions.

Will the Video_Ts folder always have ISO Image, I can have the VIDEO_TS folder without the ISO image and still burn it to a DVD right ? I tried doing that I dont think the VIDEO_TS folder I got had an ISO Image in it, I got it using DVD Decrypter. In this case I was trying to make a MP4 file of it and it did get converted into the MP4 format. So ISO image is not always required right ?

    I was answering this question:

That would give you a single .ISO file, not a VIDEO_TS folder full of IFO/BUP/VOB files.

If you wnat to make an MP4 file you should rip as VIDEO_TS folder and run something like Xvid4PSP. But that will lose some quality. Well, in theory you could simply remux the MPEG 2 video and AC3 audio into an MP4 file (resulting in no loss of quality) but that will leave you with a file nearly as big as all the VOB files put together.

Oh, for the love of Zeus!

Step 1: Rip to harddrive using DVD Fab HD Decrypter
    Step 2: Start ImgBurn
Step 3: Select the "Burn files or folders to disc" option
Step 3: Select the VIDEO_TS folder. NOT its parent folder. NOT its contents. The VIDEO_TS folder itself
Step 4: Make sure you have the right kind of disc in the burner. ImgBurn will indicate whether or not you have sufficient space on the disc to which you wish to burn.
Step 5: If necessary, put in a different disc
Step 6: Burn the disc. You may be prompted by ImgBurn about whether or not you are trying to burn a DVD Video disc. You should click "Yes"
Step 7: put the burned disc into a DVD player to make sure it works.

If you backed up a DVD that doesn't fit on a single layer disc, you will need a double layer disc, preferably a Verbatim DVD+R DL. If you do not have any DL discs, or a DL burner, or don't want to use a DL disc, you will need to re-encode the backed up DVD to make it fit on a single layer disc.

if you reencode, YOU WILL LOSE QUALITY.

If you are still unsure about what to do, look to the left side of the page, where there's a "HOW TO" section containing guides for DVD Backup and Converting, as well as others.

Also, any and all advice given is intended to assist you ONLY in backing up movies that YOU OWN. If this is about rentals, stuff you've borrowed from friends, or wonderful, virus-free stuff you've illegally downloaded from torrent sites, go elsewhere.

Out of my own curiosity, why do you recommend that?

I've been selecting the parent folder (which contains the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders) when burning with ImgBurn for several years.

I really am curious - what am I missing?

Nothing. I do it the same way. I have the main folder with the name of the movie, and inside of it I have the AUDIO_TS and the VIDEO_TS folders. I select the one with the movie's name and ImgBurn goes on its merry way.
