I have a 17GB folder with many subfolders which I need to store on standard 4GB DVDs.
Is there a program which allows you to just select that main folder, select the DVD format and the software calculates everything else automatically, just prompting you to put new DVDs in the drive?
Please respond with a solution, anyone...this is a huge problem if done manually.

I don't think this one does it "on the fly" but it might. I've used it but haven't experimented too much with it.

Also the files must not be split in any way as a byproduct of splitting on many DVDs, only calculated to optimally fill each DVD.

You're right. Don't even try DVDSpan. Don't read the instructions or the FAQ. Just ignore it. Forget I even mentioned it.
