    Hello all,

    I know absolutely nothing about video! but here's the deal... I have a camcorder that currently records standard video to a PC through a firewire. I now have an HD camcorder, and I want to do the same thing. Capture the stream as it records onto the PC. When I use the camcorder it needs to be switched to P2 in order to have the 720 format that I want... however I don't have a P2 card because I want to record directly to the PC. Can this be achieved somehow?

    You mean a data transfer to the PC after you are done recording?

    no, currently it captures the video to the PC and saves it as an .avi file. There is no tape.
