    how to add a subtitle track to mkv files???

    Depends on what kind of subtitle it is. If it's a srt, sub, idx/sub it can be played externally with most players. If it is your intention to actually include it in the MKV itself, Mkvtoolnix can mux it into the MKV . The program to do that in the MKVtoolnix set would be MMG( the gui for muxing.) MKV has had some problems recently with aggresively trying to enforce the MKV standard so Ver 4.00 or earlier might be what you want to use. Also MMG works best if everything is streamed out and than remuxed.
