What's a good blank dvd for photos? I'd like to put all of my digital prints on a dvd just to be safe.

I was looking at the Verbatim Photo DVD+R... Any other brands you can trust with your photos?

Verbatim is generally most trusted here along with taiyo yuden.

I use just about anything however. But I use multiple brands and make new copies every few months - from the original files on my harddrive in the computer. I don't have any that aren't pretty recent for just in case emergencies. But I still have some dvdrs from 2003 and older. No reason to get rid of them.

Just to be safe why not buy the cheapest external harddrive you can find and have an extra backup on that? Just don't rely soly on the harddrive. Be diligent and do both the harddrive backup AND the disc backup to be safe.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Most of the pictures are already on an external hard drive. I would like to find a good dvd to burn them to just to be safe if the hard drive ever fails. I already have a 100 pack of Verbatim DVD+R's, might just use those.

    Not just "any" Verbatims, however.

    Wise move.
Another good option is getting another hard drive.
And then storing it at another location -- parents, siblings, office, etc.
