I (almost) always have sync issues with downloaded FLV files.

I have read other links similar, but not the same. I would like my video to be synchronized regardless of what media player I am using, but preferably VLC, Creative Entertainment player (remote control option player) and Creative Media Source player 5. I could care less about playing the video with WMP 11.

    That being said...

I Firstly should mention that I need the video to be in AVI format (of any kind) as Creative will only play DivX format types.

Audio (for the video in question) lags by 3.3 seconds according to VLC (If I manually jump the audio ahead by 3.3 seconds, the a/v are synchronized through the entire video). This sync issue is linear throughout the video.

    Audio: AAC
    Video: H.264

GSpot can run "codec solutions and test" for the FLV successfully, but when running the test on the extracted audio (AAC) and video (H.264), only the audio passes. The video fails to pass.

    GSpot Specs for video stream:

    "Codecs Are Installed"

    "Scanning @ 35 MB/s"

    Bit Rate: Not Rendered?

    Frame Rate: Not Rendered

    Video: H.264/AVC

    WideScreen (odd ball size): 688 x 288, 43:18

    File Size: 590 MB

    "proposed Codec Solutions And Test":

Pass #1: Status: not rendered yet. Use [2] to render

Pass #2: Failed connect Output pin 0x0(etc.) ("Src Media) on *.264 to input pin 0x0(etc.) on filter 0x0(etc.) ("Name of codec").ConnectDirect() failed. Error 0x80040207: [unknown]

    Pass #3: Never Happens...

All of the muxing, demuxing and/or converting in the world doesn't seem to make a difference. I also can't seem to find a stand alone codec for use in recognizing (properly) and encoding+synchronizing to any A/V format , never mind the same (FLV) format or any variation of DivX format.
I did convert to AVI, resulting with the same 3.3 second audio delay using FLV Extract and then Super to recombine as XviD AVI. I also converted it to XviD AVI a couple of other ways, all with the same "3.3 second" audio delay result.

    Thanks in advance.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I tried this guide: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/257022-How-to-fix-audio-synch-problem-in-AVI-file and had the same result... 3.3 second audio delay.

I take it all back, https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/257022-How-to-fix-audio-synch-problem-in-AVI-file worked perfectly, I just had it wrong when I thought the audio was behind by 3.3 seconds... it was ahead by 3.3 seconds... I guess it helps to double check ur work!

    YES!!!

Oh yeah... and I used to get an error when playing the video with VLC, saying something like, could not read file type or format...but it played anywho. VirtualDubMod recognized a header issue and automatically fixed it... NICE!

Now all players work and no more error! Soooo Happy I could cry... I think I will on second thought.

    guns1ing is the man!!!
