  1. Sys: XP 1700+ (not OC), K7s5a with 128+64 SDram, dutch win2000
    Virtualdub 1.4.9
    CCE 2.50 and 2.62

Trying the foolproof guide as mentioned on vcdhelp to convert divx to svcd using cce, it doesn't work!

What I'm trying to do is to frameserve with virtualdub to CCE. But when I try step 8 (rightclick, add) and try to add the frameserved vdr file I get this windows message CCE created illegal requests (or something like that) and a error log will be created. So it simply crashes. I tried everything (reinstalling, applying different patches, but the problem stays.

I also tried the 2.62 CCE version (cracked/uncracked), but with that one i can't add the vdr file, cause it reports it is not a valid stream.

I also tried different divx movies, but that don't help as well. What could be wrong?

The reason i want t use CCE is becoz i understood it's faster than the TMEGenc/Virtualdub combo. That combo using 2 pass VBR causes my system to freeze regularly. Also very annoying...

Could it be a hardware problem, or is it a software problem?

    I hope someone can help.

Don't think CCE 2.62 works with frameserving .. you have to use some vfapi thing in some way

  3. Av you are right about CCE 2.62 IT DOESN'T WORK if you want to frameserve w/ VirtualDub , but there is a different methid and a lot simpler, you can use VFapi to frameserving.
1.Open TMPGEnc and load your movie, then load one of the right TEMPLATE for you (pal or ntsc svcd) the go file and click SAVE PROJECT. (it takes a second do save project)
You are done w/TMPGEnc, now open VFapi, Add job , Browse for the project you have just saved in TMPGEnc and then MAKE SURE YOU unchecK AUDIO then hit CONVERT (it takes about up to 20-30 seconds) What you aredoing , you're creating a fake avi script which is readable by CCE . Now open CCE and load the file from VFapi.
    You're Done

    Hi mega5,

I tried to do like you said, because I encountered the above mentioned problems using CCE 2.62. I also encountered problems while using VFapi, it wouldn't load the TMPGEnc projectfile *.tpr.
    I'm getting the following errormessage
    ---------------------------
    VFAPI Reader Codec •ÏŠ·
    ---------------------------
    ???? C:\Programme\Videobearbeitung\TMPGEnc\Template\I Am Sam CD1.tpr ??????.
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------
I'm using the latest version of TMPGEnc (2.53.35.130) and VFapi (1.04 BETA) I could find. Are those versions not working either? Or where am I wrong?

  5. I'll try your method. Thanx. But what about the 2.50 version? That one should have worked doesn't it? Is it also possible to add subtitles (like the virtual dub subtitler filter does) to the mpeg movie (i don't mean switchable, but also encoded) with your solution?

  6. I also tried the VFapi method but got the same warning helluvaguy got. Anyone who knows how to use CCE 2.50? I think that one should really work. But maybe I got my settings wrong or something?

I am trying to decode Ratrace (first CD). Because of the VBR audio I first extracted that (uncompressed). I also saved the avi without sound. Those two new files are the input for the frameserving with Virtualdub. As for filters I used the resize (480x360, a=-1, 480x576, because I have PAL system...) and the subtitle filter (version 2.3, SSA file).

Maybe someone now says: you fool, i know what you did wrong....!

Note I also tried different divx files (without the need to convert first becoz of the VBR audio problem..), but the problem stays...

Well hope to sort out my problem.....
