  1. I'm having problems steaming to my xbox360 as my pc is hardwired on a telus gigaset se567 wireless adsl gateway and my xbox is using the microsoft xbox360 wireless networking adapter, its also 1 floor above me. When I go to network setup it says i may need more bandwidth to watch any kind of moives. My router is on a g network is there anyway to get a better signal as im only getting about 7 out of the 15 bars that are displayed on the xbox setup, not sure what else i can tell you but i would like to stream something that has better quality then a 700mb movie that dosent shutter and look like a bunch of pixels.

If you have to stay wireless get an N router. You will also need to buy a N adapter for the 360. The N adapter for the 360 came out about a year ago or so.

But to be honest the best way to stream is to be wired. That is the only way to be sure you get fault free streaming.

The length of the cables shouldn't degrade the picture. You may want to look into repeater stations. You should be able to use lan switches to keep the individual runs smaller.

I forget the actual specs but you should be all set up to 100-120'.

  6. CAT5 is good to 328 Feet!

Your 50' run isn't going to have the slightest impact on it whatsoever.

I have similar long runs from the basement to the second floor rooms.
