  1. i am trying to open a m2v file in iauthor. it is a m2v because i had to use pulldown.exe on it which made a m2v from a mpv file. i tried renaming the file but that didn't work for iauthor. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Renaming worked for me.
What error message did you receive?

  4. i didn't get a error message but when i browse to open the video file it is not listed so i can't choose it. i-author is wanting me to load a mpv file. when i rename it to a .mpv it still is a m2v file type with the name of movie.mpv.

  5. Hi, if you take the original file and demux it in TMPGenc and set the name of the file to .mpv before starting the process you will end up with a file that works.

  6. I assume you're talking about the mux utility in IAuthor - IAuthor itself asks for mps files.

The m2v and mpv files are the same format - if renaming doesn't work, maybe the file is corrupt - otherwise you're doing something wrong.

  7. Sorry for the confusion. You take the original encoded MPEG2 file. Open TMPGenc, open the tools option, choose basic demultiplex, open your file. Where it says "video output" you choose the location and rename the file .mpv instead of the default .m2v. Once you've demultiplexed then you can open up the MUX utility that came with I-Author and the .mpv file will be recognized. From there create your .mps file and you're on your way.

  8. It doesn't matter if you rename the files when demuxing in TMPG or in Explorer afterward - its the same thing.

  9. It may not have mattered to you but I did not have any luck renaming the file in explorer afterward. I had to do it during the demux process before muxing with I-Author.
