hello all,
i've been using a pinnacle studio PCTV for some time now to do TV>VCD transfers. it has served its purpose, but now that i have a dvd burner, i want to go TV>DVD, and since the PCTV won't take in more than 352x240, i'm looking for a card that can handle full screen captures.
please make some suggestions for me.
also, my current card is running on a p3/733, 256mb, 40gb 7200rpm hard drive. is this good enough to handle what i want it to do? i have other computers available, but this one is the most convenient to do the work on.
thanks in advance.

Have a budget amount in mind?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
not looking to spend too much.. as i said, i have other pc's available, so that's not a problem. i just want to know esentially what i need to accomplish what i want to do. wouldn't really want to go more than $200 on a new card, but i'm also easily persuaded. :D

For real time TV->DVD, you're going to need much more than a P3-700.
You're looking at a motherboard+cpu upgrade (P4 or AthlonXP) and a new capture card (AIW 7500 is a good deal right now). -
does it have to be TV > DVD?
you could upgrade to more disk space (80gb Maxtor $110 newegg.com)
and maybe a tv wonder.
cap to avi then dvd
cheaper, more options, and better quality via filters etc..
but of course takes a bit longer
