  1. Alright I don't know if anyone can help me with this or not. I am currently connecting my Nvidia 8800GT PCIEXPress card via DVI-HDMI to my other PC that has Intensity PRO HDMI. I can record just fine except with Screen tearing. II have set both PCs to Vsync to try and help the issues but still nothing. I can capture component 720p uncompressed video from either PS3 or Xbox360 without any screen tearing. When I try to capture from a PC games, Dolphin emu, or PCX2 I get screen tearing. I don't have any screen tearing on the PC that I am playing. Everything is fine. Anybody know what I can do to prevent this. Seems to either be my Graphics card not displaying properly to the BMD or HDMI/DVI. Can anybody help?
    Thanks

  2. Walk through your caps frame by frame with an editor like VirtualDub. See if the tearing is in the cap or or just a playback problem.

  3. Did exactly what you said and I can see the screen tearing when going frame by frame. I can see screen tearing from media express capture preview and even virtual dub preview when I am not even trying to capture video.

  4. Not when previewing the video -- when viewing single frames of a captured video. Do you see tears in individual frames? If you do then you have a capture problem. If not, you have a playback problem.

  5. Ya, I can see a problem when going through the videos frame by frame with virtual dub, not using preview capture. What would you say my card is bad, or what? I am trying to update to latest first. Last time I tried to update I couldn't capture so I had to downgrade firmware.

That means the tearing is in the output of the gaming computer (you might still have tearing during playback but you should address this first). How exactly are you capturing? Does the game computer have dual video outputs? VSync will only work with one. Output should be set to 1280x720p at 59.94 Hz. And VSync should be enabled -- but it looks like you did that already.

  7. I am cloning to dual view. It seems that is the only way to output to the intensity pro. After your last post it gave me an idea of just setting single screen on the output so maybe vsync would work. So far it is being finicky. I thought I was able to use only one output a while back but now its not working. I have to have my desktop set to 720p otherwise like you said won't work. Messing around a little more with it. It will connect no matter what fps I have under media express.

Yes, that's the problem. VSync will only work on one of the outputs. You could try switching outputs. That way you'll have VSync on the output going to the BMIP. The output you're playing on will show tearing though.

  9. Well, hopefully that works. Well, the only problem I will have is getting my video card to get main display on bmd. For some reason I can only get clone screen and not single. How do I switch the output?

Ok, I think what is going on is when I switch to single output for bmd it is not set to 720p in the resolution hence why I am not getting any signal when I change to one source. I do not know how to change this.

  10. Switch outputs by switching the cables. Changing which output is the primary monitor may work too -- not sure though.

  11. No such luck in Windows XP. Whenever I switch cables it changes it back to primary even if I switch it. Pain the ass. I am gonna try it in Windows 7. I swore I was able to do it by default in win 7 and it wouldn't let me clone screens with the intensity pro.
