I converted an mp4 file to dvd and it plays fine on my computer.
I used Dvdvideosoft-because avs to dvd kept freezing, and vso imprints a watermark).
The completed file went from 1gb to 9gb and dvdshrink does not recognize it.
This seems to be happening lately with all dvdvideosoft conversions.
Is there any other program that would shrink this file to allow me to burn it to a dvd disc?

    Thanks for any advice.

Did dvdvideosoft make a complete dvd with vob, ifo, bup files? Or just a mpg/vob file?

And try other mp4 to dvd converters like dvd flick.

    Baldrick,
    Thanks for quick reply.
Dvdvideosoft did make full copy and normally dvdshrink does work.
I tried dvdflick, which I have been using, but it kept freezing a 8%.
I am now trying Xilisoft to create an iso image and then hope to dvdshrink will recognize that.

Lower the video bitrate when you convert and you don't have to shrink.

Try FAVC to convert your MP4 into a DVD structure folder. Choose 4.37GB for the Disk capacity, no shrinking necessary.

I don't use xilisoft nor dvdvideosoft. But can't you specify andy video settings? Check for bitrate or in some tools can you set the output file size directly(like dvd flick, avstodvd).

Maybe try FAVC and the old good free DivXtoDVD, https://www.videohelp.com/download/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_0.52.99.exe

just a personal advice, Scan any software from DVDVideoSoft at-least by more than two prominent AV Scanners or @ Virus Total before installing into your computer.

    Hi Baldrick,
I finally got Dvdvideosoft to work by following your suggestion.
One other question: I also tried Any soft to convert and it works on my computer, but I picked Dvd Pal and Dvd Ntsc and they are not dvd compliant so I cannot burn to disc.
What format would I use in this program?
Thanks again for all your help!
