    CS,

You're on the completely correct track. You didn't explain yourself well and that's why you're getting all the questions. I've setup the same thing for my son. He seems to like how it works.

    - 360 in to HDMI splitter. (Check Monoprice for both powered and non-powered. I'd recommend powered.)
    - Splitter out to BMIP HDMI in. (There's one HDMI-out and one HDMI-in, make sure you use the right one.)
    - Splitter out to Monitor. (You'll need to setup sound seperately if you use HDMI->DVI)

    - Open BMIP software (very basic capture but it does the trick) and set to HDMI in. Set to 720p and capture to MJPEG. Either set or pay attention to the capture directory so you know where your capture files go.
    - Set your 360 output to 720p. You will notice little if any difference between 720p and 1080p (or your monitors 1600x1050 res).

    - Start your 360
    - Start the BMIP capture software. Press record
    - Start your game.
    - Stop the capture when you're ready.

You'll have some very large capture file. I'd recommend do 3-5 min captures to test with. What I setup for my son was VirtualDub and dvix (or was it xvid...don't remember...) to compress to. It'll take those multi-gb files and compress down to something MUCH more reasonable. If you need more specifics, let me know.

Note: A monitor with dual inputs is ideal. You keep one dedicated to the PC and one to the XBOX and just have to switch.

There are some things to look out for with capturing but if you get far enough to get a capture file and you have more questions, feel free to ask.
    Have a good one,

    neomaine

Can you please explain how you fixed the audio, because I have perfect picture but it doesn't record any sound. I have wired everything like you said was a good idea.

Didn't have to fix anything. It worked. Explain your setup (as much detail as possilbe) and I'll see if something pops out.
