Wireless Mics for hunting

I have a Sony HDV SR1 camera & wondered how & what wireless mics to use with it?

What audio are you trying to capture with the wireless mic? Detail helps.

I think so theres a plugin towards the front of the camera. I want to film hunts, I want to be able to hear what the individual says that is hunting. When your out in the field you have to be very quite so you can't talk very loud & I want to be able to pick it up.

I would like to stay under $500. & would like to be able to use it with a lot nicer camera in the future. I plan to buy a much nicer camera over the winter.

So you only want to mic the hunter for voice?

Do you need to talk back to him?

Is there more than one hunter that needs to be mic'd?

Will the new camcorder have 600 ohm XLR inputs?

Low end starting reference is the Azden WMS-PRO $139-150. It is VHF (not a problem in the woods). This 10+ year old design works well for voice but may have urban interference. I once used one at an auto show at Moscone in SF. The presenter's voice was picked up on the house PA. Every word was heard throughout the hall.

The pro versions are outside your price range so I'll search for a middle solution.

Remember high quality pro wireless equipment can be rented cheap. The main market is weddings.

If poss. I would like a dual set for either 2 hunters or the camera guy & the hunter. I'm thinking something along the lines of a Z5U or in that similar type of quality. I'm sure by next year there are going to be other options to conceder. Thanks for looking into this with me, it is appreciated!

To do two two hunters you will need two separate mono systems plus a 2x mono to stereo adapter into the stereo mic jack. This puts pressure on your $500 budget.

You would want two mono to stereo.
