    LG Hdd/dvd recorder receiver system- model lh-rh3690se, speakers-lhs ? 36se5s, lhs36se5a,
    I recenty bought this player but it just keeps displaying (please wait on the dvd player), nothing shows on the tv, not even the lg logo. i have tried everything and some say it needs a code which i have no idea where to get. it has never worked to start with so i dont know what more to do....help please

    You need to take it back to where you bought it and get another one.

    The talk about code is just wrong. If a code exists for your player, and it may not, all that would do is make it region free. From your description you can't get anything to play on it, so that's not a DVD region problem but a defective player issue.

    thank you but i lost the slip ages ago and i dont think they will want it back without it. is there anything else i can do without taking it back or ccan a technician fix the problem????

    Your first post says you "recently bought" the player. Then you say you lost the slip "ages ago". Your first post, to me at least, sort of implied that the player didn't work out of the box. Now I think that what actually happened is that the player worked for a while but now it doesn't.

    I'm sure it can be repaired, but it will be expensive. It may be cheaper to buy a new recorder though.

    DVD players are not designed to last. Note that many models need a lot of empty space around them to air cool or they will suffer heat damage. If you keep your player in a poorly ventilated area, you may have the same problem eventually even after a repair.
